Resident Evil Requiem Will Be Playable In First And Third-Person At Launch

Some fresh details on RE9 have emerged.

One of the biggest surprises during showcase season this year was the reveal of Resident Evil Requiem as part of Summer Game Fest 2025. Capcom gave us a tease at what it's building for the next mainline Resi title during the Geoff Keighley show, and while the initial trailer was light on details, some fresh info has now been revealed.

As mentioned in numerous previews, including over on the official Xbox Wire blog, Resident Evil Requiem will indeed be playable in both first and third-person when it launches in February 2026. It doesn't sound like the third-person mode has been tacked on either, as Xbox Wire says there's not a "true" way you need to play the game:
