Phasmophobia Is Getting A Complete Overhaul On Xbox In 2026

Welcome to 'Horror 2.0'.

Late last year, after multiple lengthy delays, spooky ghost-hunting hit Phasmophobia finally came to consoles - selling three million copies in the process. Since then, developer Kinetic Games has updated the game on Xbox, but not in the same way as it has planned for 2026. The team is plotting a complete overhaul next year as part of its 'Horror 2.0' update.

At the time of posting, we're not sure exactly when this update will drop; the developer says it's coming "as soon as it's ready". However, we do know some of the lofty goals that the studio has for its Phasmophobia Horror 2.0 Update, including "reworking the entire horror in the game".
