EA Says Need For Speed Is On Ice As Team Wraps Up Development On NFS Unbound

EA has put out a new statement (via Eurogamer) on the future of its Need for Speed series, as it ends support for 2022's Need for Speed Unbound. The last NFS entry had an extended life cycle, where EA went on to "use their feedback to create content for Unbound", but developer Criterion Games is now fully working on Battlefield 6.

And, ultimately, that means that no NFS game is in active development right now. Need for Speed Unbound came out three years after NFS Heat — which in itself proved a longer wait than usual — but franchise fans will now have to be very patient for the next entry in the series.
