Marvel's Black Panther Game Reportedly Cancelled As EA 'Sharpens Focus' On Its Lineup

Another studio closure looks imminent.

A couple of years ago now, Marvel and EA announced that they were collaborating on a Black Panther game being crafted by new studio Cliffhanger Games, but that all looks to be coming to an end here in 2025 - with nothing to show for it.

Per a new IGN report, EA has cancelled this Black Panther project and is closing down its development studio, Cliffhanger Games. The site claims to have seen internal emails about the decision, where EA cites plans to "sharpen our focus and put our creative energy behind the most significant growth opportunities" as core reasons behind the game's cancellation.
