Battlefield's Next Entry Will Reportedly Include A 'Free-To-Play Battle Royale'

It's been a difficult period for EA's Battlefield series since the arrival of Battlefield 2042. While the latest entry has drastically improved with multiple updates since its launch in 2021, there have still been several setbacks. Just last week, for example, EA shut down the dedicated Battlefield campaign studio Ridgeline Games.

Now, in an "exclusive" from Insider Gaming, it's claimed EA is set to bounce back with a new game supposedly set "somewhere around 2025 - 2030" and apparently featuring 64-player matches, a four-class system, and a destruction system overhaul.
